Managing Team Goals

Our new feature will allow employees who are managers or supervisors to manage the goals of any employees who report to them via their ESS portal.

We have just release a new feature which lets your Managers or Supervisors who are not necessarily Admin Users in HR Partner, to create and update Goals for employees who report directly to them.

This takes a lot of workload off the admin team in your organization, and will empower line managers to be able to manage their teams more effectively.

As with most new features we release that involves the management of someone else's information, this feature is turned OFF by default until specifically turned ON by your admin team.

You can turn on the ability for any employee to manage their team's goals by editing their profile, then going to the 'ESS Portal' tab, and under the 'Portal Permissions', turn on this flag.

Once you do this, the employee will see a slightly different sidebar menu when they visit their ESS portal.

As well as being able to see their own goals, they can now also see goals for any employee that reports to them as well.

From here they can add new goals, delete existing goals, and update any goal values accordingly.

In the past, the manager had to be a part of a Performance Review with the employee in order to be able to see or manage their goals, but now they do this without being part of the review as well.

We hope this new addition makes it easier to manage goals for your team(s). Please consider any privacy or confidentiality needs of your employees when considering whether to enable this permission for any of your managers. As always, our team are always willing to help you with the rollout of any new features such as this one.
