eSignatures Improvement
We are excited to announce our release of a completely "from the ground up" rebuild of our eSignatures module in order to add more functionality and ease of use within HR Partner.
This was quite tricky to do while retaining all the existing functionality so that we didn't break anything for our existing users, but we think you will find the new enhancements quite useful and productive.
Fresh Interface
We have built the eSignatures module using a new interface library that, if it works well, we are looking to roll out across the rest of the HR Partner app modules in order to modernise it and make it easier to maintain moving forward.
We've also worked hard to make the whole signing experience easier for the end user. The new interface works a LOT better on smaller mobile device screens, plus we now allow you to make changes and edit signatures or text before saving the entire document. No more round trips back to the server when filling in each field!
New Field Types
Firstly, alongside the existing text, date and signature fields that we already had, we are adding Checkbox and Initial fields into the mix, for better variety and to handle more use cases.
On top of that, existing field types now have more formatting options, such as changing the font style and size to suit your underlying document.
In the old eSignatures module, ALL fields were considered mandatory, but now you can nominate certain fields to be optional as well, so they can be skipped when completing the signing process.
Merge Fields
We have also added a ton of merge fields in the module now, so you can automatically embed things such as the employee name, position, or almost any other core employee data when you send them a document to sign.
You can even embed things like dates or custom fields that you have created in HR Partner!
We also now have the concept of 'pre filled' fields which you can pre-fill at the time of assigning the document to one or more employees. This means you can have a standard boilerplate contract or document, and have important fields customised and filled out at the point of sending it out so that you, or the signee only has to fill in the bare minimum when signing it.
Our entire team has worked really hard on this rebuild, and we are all excited to share it with you.
We would love to hear your feedback, and of course, please let us know immediately if you come across any issues, or have any questions. With a major rebuild like this, we understand that little bugs can slip through despite our rigorous internal testing.
This is just phase 1 of our improvements to eSignatures. Next on our list is adding workflows to this module so you can have complete control of who signs a document, and when. Make sure you are subscribed to our developer blog in order to be kept up to date when we release the next round of changes.
